I’m alive today because I recognized the signs of a stroke—but even as an ICU Registered Nurse, I still didn’t get to the Emergency Room fast enough. That delay changed my life forever. I live every day with the lasting deficits of a hemorrhagic stroke, and while I cannot undo what happened to me, I can fight to make sure it doesn’t happen to someone else.

That is why I’m launching #fxckStroke.org, a nonprofit dedicated to one mission:

Educate. Empower. Save Lives.

Strokes don’t wait. They don’t discriminate. They strike fast—and the only defense we have is awareness. Too many people miss the early signs. Too many families lose precious minutes. Too many lives are changed forever because someone didn’t know what to look for.

I’ve made progress in my own recovery, but now my focus is on something bigger:

Building a courageous movement to teach every community how to recognize a stroke and act immediately.

Because when it comes to stroke, seconds matter.

Knowledge matters.

YOU matter.

But I cannot launch this life‑saving mission alone.
