Support Striking Starbucks Union Workers in Anaheim, CA

Hello! As you may have heard, Starbucks Workers United ("SBWU"), the grassroots worker-led union movement of Starbucks baristas across this country recently launched a nationwide rolling strike to stand up against corporate greed.

Between April and September of 2024, Starbucks and SBWU met and bargained, reaching several TA's and making significant progress towards a first contract after 3+ years. However, in September Starbucks abruptly fired their CEO Laxman Narasimhan likely for being sympathetic to the union and agreeing to bargain. Starbucks proceeded to bring in Brian Niccol, the former union-busting CEO of Chipotle to take over the company.

Bargaining progress suddenly halted. Despite meeting in November and December, Starbucks failed to provide fair counterproposals around wages and health benefits. After stalling negotiations, Starbucks offered an insulting 2% wage increase to the Union workers during the December negotiations session. (Mind you, Brian Niccol makes over $57k an hour and this 2% offer would average out somewhere around $.35-45 an hour for most partners.)

As a former Starbucks Partner (the term used in lieu of 'employee' at Starbucks) & Starbucks Workers United alumni who organized the fist Union Starbucks in Southern California, I am organizing this GoFundMe at the request of the Unionized Starbucks Partners at the Katella & Anaheim store in Anaheim, California. The goal of this GFM is to raise funds that will help cover lost wages and other necessary expenses these incredible workers will need to get through their 5-day strike.

Please donate what you can to support workers, spread awareness of this GFM, and support striking Starbucks workers. Together, we can teach Brian Niccol that he MUST bargain in good faith to reach a first contract & respect Union workers.
