Stray Hearts of Sigonella, formerly known as SASS, is an animal non-profit organization that is solely ran by dedicated animal lovers who volunteer endless hours to rescue, shelter, feed, and rehabilitate the stray animals in and around the Sigonella Naval Air Station in Catania, Sicily area. With over 600,000 strays in Sicily alone the task of rescuing is unending. In addition to our rescue mission we are also dedicated to controlling the stray cat population that was last estimated to be over 335,000 stray cats living on the streets of Sicily through a Trap, Neuter, and Return Program known as TNR. We have recently been given permission to begin TNR on NAS 1 at Sigonella Naval Air Station in an effort to control the overwhelming stray cat population. We are asking for your support through donations to defray costs associated with sterilizing the stray cat population.
