My name is Coach Derek Atlas. I am an Educator by trade, Track Coach by calling.

I have over 22 years coaching, 27 years in education. That’s 22 years of being on the front line, ministering to our youth, meeting them where they are, setting goals, establishing principles, motivating and persevering on and off the track.

Every day, I see children who can be motivated to do great things through sports related experiences.

In 2010 We founded Str8SmokinTrackClub. It wasn’t even my idea. A group of parents who believed in me told me I needed my own club. WE founded StrSmokin. I’ve been the only Track Club to Service , both the Eastside of Metropolitan Detroit and the Westside of Metropolitan Detroit.

We believe in coaching whoever God sends us, regardless of speed, athleticism, gender, socioeconomic status or otherwise.

Since the inception, we have never left a child behind. This is all because of you, your generosity, your faith.
