Support Stormy Langston in restoring hope after loss of home
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Dustin Hesse, and I'm graciously creating this Go Fund Me for my sister Stormy Langston and her family who lost their home to a structure fire on Thursday morning, October 24th 2024.
At approximately 8:20am smoke alarms indicated smoke within the structure, and the alarm service contacted dispatch along with my sister, who immediately left her office arriving first on scene to see her home engulfed in flames.
The fire is believed to have started near the outdoor wood furnace area, however since the structure was fully engulfed upon the arrival of the first responders, they were unable to save any part of the structure. The damage unbelievable, everything is gone and as the pictures show there is virtually no sign of an existing home. The loss of her entire home is devastating.
This home was Stormy's husband Terry's vision and legacy for his family. Terry and Stormy, along with thier children, family and friends build this home over many years. After years of hard work, and dedication to his vision, Terry was unfortunately diagnosed with brain cancer. Stormy cared for Terry, but last summer he died in the home he built and loved.
Additionally, in the last several years due to the increase in wildland fires and structure losses, insurance companies have declined home coverage in many communities leaving families, including Stormy, without home insurance options. After calling nine insurance companies, she was forced to go without house insurance.
Stormy has served her community as a public servant for over 18 years and continues to serve in a steadfast manner. Both Stormy and Terry have given much to their community over the years, and we hope it is their time to be supported.
Stormy has lost everything, all of her belongings and her treasured family memories. For these reasons, we are appreciative of any help for Stormy to start over.
Any donated funds will be used to reestablish a home and replace belongings.
In addition to this Go Fund Me, a benefit bank account will be opened at the First Interstate Bank of Eureka, updated information to follow.
Special thanks go out to Eureka Volunteer Fire, State Forestry, and the good folks from Hillbilly Hoageez and Valley Pizza for the donated food, and a huge thanks to Tina and Misty! Thank you to everyone that has offered help, Stormy is so appreciative of any and all support.
