Hi everyone~ My name is Makayla, and I have started this GoFundMe for my Grammie, Stormie Johnette, to help ease the burden of her Chemotherapy & Medical Expenses. Stormie is a grandmother to many, a dedicated woman, and an inspiration to all.

Since June 1st, my grandmother has fought a very tough battle against her primary diagnosis of Stage 4B Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer of the right lower lobe. After numerous scans and various testing, a PET scan revealed the cancer was metastasizing. The cancer viciously spread from her lungs into her lymph nodes and would shortly reach her bones. With Cancer advancing so quickly, she must receive the immediate medical care necessary along with continuous rounds of chemotherapy needed to defeat this debilitating disease. Currently, Grammie has endured 13 chemotherapy treatments and three immunotherapy treatments (all while working and raising her fur baby Sammy!!!!)

Right now, her current status is “Partial Remission”. This upcoming Friday (12/6/2024) Stormie will begin enduring the Chemotherapy once again, for the foreseeable future, and she refuses to back down from fighting!!

Some people reading this may not know who Stormie is, so let me explain her just a little bit… Stormie is the MOST hardworking and loyal person I’ve ever encountered in my life. She has relentlessly continued to work TWO jobs, consisting of managing very popular lakeside destination restaurants, alongside every treatment and the constant physical pains. Regardless, she will not allow the Cancer or chemotherapy to slow her down. Stormie is the STRONGEST and most fearless woman I’ve ever known. Knowing Stormie means receiving unconditional love and support no matter her battle. I am so utterly blessed to call her my grandmother and to have a role model who has persevered throughout life. She has taught me hard work and determination will help you achieve your dreams and has never failed to exemplify this. Her strength has taught me to navigate the unexpected and to appreciate all that life offers. Stormie is not done spreading her love and light yet. She is powered by passion and fueled by the fiery desire to overcome. Her lust for life burns deep within her soul.

ALL proceeds will be applied directly to Stormie’s Chemotherapy Treatments & Medical Expenses.
