Hi, my name is Storee Wallace. I’m 15, I go to Summit Atlas High School, and am in the 10th grade. I’ve always had a passion for literature. I actually plan to go to Seattle University and major in journalism! Earlier this year, I saw that the School of The New York Times was offering a summer academy for journalism. I applied for a scholarship and got accepted despite their selective admissions process. However, they didn’t provide as much scholarship money as I thought they would. So, me and my mom have been trying to cover the remainder of my tuition. I’ve been picking up babysitting/tutoring jobs (because I am still 15 and cannot be employed) but I still have at least 5,000 dollars to pay. I’ve always worked really hard to make sure my college application is one to be sought after, and this would be the perfect addition. It’s a rare opportunity to explore myself and validate my academic capabilities and reputation. It would also highly influence my career in journalism, please donate! Anything helps! Thank you.
Also, here is a link to the course I’ve selected! https://nytedu.com/courses/pre-college/reporting-on-communities-and-culture/
