Support Stone's Recovery & New Job Start
Donation protected
Early this morning, I fell and severely sprained my ankle and bruised several ribs.
Urgent care confirmed no fractures, thankfully; however, all urgent care could provide are traditional crutches, which are extremely painful to use given the several bruised ribs and cartilage between them, along with several bruises.
I have been trying all day to work with my insurance to cover or partially cover the cost of a knee scooter or a knee crutch, but they aren’t going to cover or split the cost regardless of the pain traditional crutches cause to use.
A knee scooter or knee crutch runs around a few hundred dollars, which, being between jobs, is not something I can cover right now.
Thankfully, my job search has come with a job offer I’ll be accepting, but it will be weeks before I see any income there. So I’m posting this in the hope of some support to help me purchase a mobility device along with a proper ankle and rib brace to help me recover as smoothly as possible.
Emotionally, I’m pretty crushed to be in this position on the crux of starting a new job. Training starts early to middle of next week, and I need to be able to attend orientation and training both in person and virtually by Tuesday.
I’ve been scouring online sources for second-hand braces and supports, but there just aren’t any.
If you can give anything to help me get back on my feet and back in the workforce so I can support myself, that would mean the absolute world to me. Any donations would be used first and foremost for a knee support/scooter to help alleviate the pain of using crutches and get me mobile. Anything beyond that would go towards support braces that would allow me to wear proper shoes and help speed up my recovery.
Thank you so much for your support and for taking the time to read this far.
Words of support or encouragement here, via text, or on social media would also absolutely mean the world to me.
Humbly,
Stone
