Support Stokely Library's Recovery from Flood Damage

Hi, my name is Emily Major. I'm the Director for Stokely Library located in Newport, Tennessee. Hurricane Helene was devastating to our little town along the Pigeon River. We have sustained extensive flood damage that resulted in losing bookshelves, desks, flooring, carpet, and many other items that were at flood level.

The local community depends on us for their favorite books, the computer lab, WiFi, and the use of our Genealogy room that has archives of the many generations who have lived here in the Great Appalachia Mountains of Cocke County, Tennessee.

Stokely Library and 3 others in our county are the 2nd lowest funded libraries in the State of Tennessee. Flood insurance is not an option as the cost isn't affordable with our budget. We are asking for help from you so we can replace the items we lost. Our goal is to have the library fully open before the summer of 2025. Thank you in advance.
