Hi there,
My name is Stix. I am a 33 year old trans woman, seeking help to pay for my FFS surgery. I have known I was trans since a very young age- I just didn't always have the words for it. Even as a young child, I didn't relate to my body- and always struggled to see myself in the mirror. Years later, I've come to understand that much of that struggle came from gender dysphoria. At 27, I started HRT and have been living in transition ever since.
Being trans is a painful process at every turn- medically, socially, mentally and physically. It is a constant process of discomfort- especially in a society that tries its hardest to make our lives more difficult. But I wouldn't trade it for the world. It is beautiful learning to love yourself- past, present and future- in all forms and iterations.
On August 18th, I will be getting my first round of Facial Feminization Surgery. I am planning to get rhinoplasty and some minor liposuction. My goal is to feminize the features that are already there- instead of adding any implants or fillers. Once this initial surgery is done, if I feel the need to go back in and add to the work we've done, I can- but I feel strongly that I want to look as natural as possible. I still want to look like myself.
I would greatly appreciate any and all help with the cost of this process. This is a scary time to be trans- and undergoing surgery during this time feels very risky. But I am excited for the prospect of finally starting to see myself in the mirror and liking the woman I see staring back at me. Your support would mean the world to me. Thank you.
