Hi everyone! My name is Riley and my best friend in the entire world, Stinky, recently got very sick.

On August 24th, he did not eat dinner (anyone who knows Stink knows that he will eat until it’s coming out of both ends) and just laid down on the floor which is very abnormal.

On August 25th, he refused to eat breakfast and didn’t want to get up again. I brought him to see his veterinarian and he was diagnosed with pancreatitis. His doctor also found elevated liver values and a low red blood cell count (anemia). She performed an abdominal ultrasound as well. He was treated supportively pending ultrasound results. He was discharged from the hospital that night with medications and a perkier attitude.

On August 26th, Stinky did not eat breakfast and resumed lying on the floor, even after getting pain medications. His breathing became abnormal and he did not really respond to auditory stimulus. He was brought back to his veterinarian where thoracic radiographs were performed and IV fluids were administered throughout the day. His doctor stated that he may need to be transferred to an overnight hospital to continue treatment.

As someone who just started a new job, is a college student, needed to purchase a new vehicle after the previous one was in the shop for nearly 7 years straight (not an exaggeration), finances are tight. I want to provide Stink Bug with the best care that I possibly can without going into debt. He is my bestest friend in the entire world and I can’t imagine what I would do without him
