Support Stewart Hobbie's Cancer Battle

Donation protected
We are raising funds for my brother-in-law Stewart Hobbie who is battling cancer. We would love to show them support through this difficult journey and right now financial support is one way we can do that. Stew and Sharon have lived out a strong faith through this journey and are continuing to do so. We understand that not everyone is able to give financially, but we greatly appreciate your prayers for them. Thank you so much!
Here is a note from my sister:

‭1 Corinthians 12:25-26 MSG - "The way God designed our bodies is a model for understanding our lives together as a church: every part dependent on every other part, the parts we mention and the parts we don’t, the parts we see and the parts we don’t. If one part hurts, every other part is involved in the hurt, and in the healing."

Back in December 2022, Stewart received a diagnosis of aggressive bladder cancer, stage 2. So many of you prayed, encouraged, and supported us and Stewart experienced God's healing power in his body. However, in July, 2023, a scan showed metastasis of the cancer to his abdominal area and even with chemo treatments, new tumors have shown up in his pelvic area (now stage 4). In January 2024, Stewart was encouraged to look for care elsewhere as his oncologist had no other effective options to offer. Stewart was blessed to find another great primary doctor and has been doing well, but this medical care costs $2500/month which is not covered by insurance.

Through all of this, Stewart has continued to work in a very supportive environment at LEAD Academy and God has generously provided through our jobs and insurance all that we needed financially.

However, unexpected complications of the bladder cancer led to Stewart's hospitalization this past week and the encouragement from urologists as well as his primary doctor are to now seek a consult at Emory University Hospital. We're not currently sure what this consult will lead to, what cost will be incurred, or if his insurance will cover any of the cost. We do believe God is guiding us on this healing journey.

We are so very thankful for our many caring and praying family and friends. Through the fight, many of you have asked how you can help. As we face this new development and the probability of income loss at the same time, we believe it is time to express our need and give our tribe this opportunity to be "involved in the hurt and in the healing". Thank you in advance.
