Support Steve's Heart and Recovery

Hello ,

My name is Steve Garbe , I am 62 YO and live in La Crosse , Wisconsin . I moved here from the Chicago area 2.5 years ago .

I have been relatively healthy my entire life until recently , when I have been diagnosed with a complete blockage of the main artery which supplies the blood to the right side of my heart .

I am scheduled for heart bypass surgery on Tuesday , February 4th and will miss approximately 6 weeks of work .

Unfortunately 5 of those weeks will be unpaid as I do not have short term disability insurance .

My decision to open a go fund me page was a difficult one , as I don’t tend to ask or accept help easily . But with the encouragement of a friend, I decided to try reaching out for help .

Life is hard , and a lot harder doing it alone . I have emotional support from my son , and will be staying at his home during my recovery.
