Support Steve's Fight Against Stage 4 Cancer

Hi Friends and Family,

Steve and Douachy have spent over a decade together, building a love story that began in middle school and has carried them through high school and adulthood. They were overjoyed when Steve proposed to Douachy on September 28, 2024, looking forward to their wedding in April 2025. However, life has taken an unexpected and heartbreaking turn.

From September to December 2024, Steve has been in and out of doctors and hospital visits due to stomachaches. Not until January 14, 2025, did his oncologist recommend a colonoscopy and find that he had a tumor in his sigmoid colon. On January 21, 2025, Steve underwent surgery to remove 98% of the tumor and lymph nodes that doctors had discovered. The result of the tumor biopsy came back cancerous. With no more information about the cancer from his surgeon, Steve and Douachy waited a week and a half to recover from the surgery and met up with Steve's oncologist. On February 3, 2025, they received the devastating confirmation that Steve is diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon Cancer.

While doctors were able to remove most of the cancer, it has spread to areas where further surgery would affect vital motor functions, making removal impossible. Steve will now begin chemotherapy, and Douachy will be on and off from work to be his primary caregiver. As they face this unimaginable journey, they are reaching out to their community for support.

We never imagined we’d be here, facing this battle so early in our lives. From childhood sweethearts to partners in life, we have walked every step together, and now, we are facing this illness hand in hand.

As much as we wish we didn’t have to ask for help, the reality is that we need support—from friends, family, and even kind-hearted strangers who hear our story.
