Support Steve's Cancer Treatment

In January 2021, Lauren and Steve received the news no one should ever hear - Steve, a young and healthy adult, had been diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer that had also spread to his liver. It was absolutely devastating news for two of the most kindhearted people, and for their loving friends and families. For the next six months, up to the week before their wedding in August, Steve underwent frequent and intense chemotherapy and radiation treatments to shrink the cancerous tumors in preparation for surgical removals. In August 2021, Steve underwent the first surgery where doctors were forced to remove his entire colon due to the extent of damage caused by the cancer. Just six short weeks into his recovery, Steve had his second operation where doctors removed the cancerous part of his liver.

Through Steve and Lauren's strength, the love and support of their friends and families, and the power of God, doctors have successfully removed all of the cancer. While it was tears of sadness and worry on that dark January day, it was tears of happiness shed in November when we learned Steve is officially in remission.

This should be a time of celebration and happiness going into the holidays, knowing that Steve has gone from stage 4 cancer to remission and can finally enjoy life married to his soulmate. This joy is limited, however, with the fact that the bills for all of Steve's costly - but life-saving above all else - medical treatments are now coming due at a time when Lauren and Steve make due on one income.

No one should ever, ever have to endure what Lauren and Steve have. They are two of the most kindhearted and caring people, whose love for others is only matched by their love for each other.

That is why we felt it was right to set up this GoFundMe for them - so that they can feel the same love that they show to others on a daily basis.

Our goal is to raise $3,000 to help Lauren and Steve cover the costs of his treatments. While the true costs far exceed this amount, we hope to make an impact significant enough for them to finally enjoy their lives as a married couple.
