Support Steven’s Road to Recovery

Donation protected
Hello friends, life threw a curveball at my little brother Steven, and we're reaching out for your support to help him through this incredibly tough time. On March 28th, just as he was getting his life back on track after our parents' divorce, Steven was the victim of a hit-and-run in Tampa.

After spending some time in Colombia to reflect on everything, Steven returned to Tampa ready to start fresh. He found a new appartment, landed a job at a Ferrari dealership an hour away from home. He bought a motorcycle, remembering the freedom it brought him in Colombia, and it also helped him save on gas. The night of March 28th, he was out exploring additional work as a DJ and security guard to earn additional income, hopeful about building his new life.

Tragically, as he was riding home, filled with optimism, he was struck by a car. Life can certainly change in a minute. The driver left the scene, leaving Steven seriously injured on the road. Thankfully, a passerby witnessed the accident, called 911, and applied pressure to his leg to slow the bleeding until help arrived.

At the hospital, it was a fight to save his leg. Surgeons had to transfer an artery from his left leg to the right one to maintain circulation. They also started treating multiple broken bones. Despite the surgeries and severe pain, Steven's spirit has remained unbroken. He faces each challenge with determination, though the pain is intense.

I quickly flew to Florida to help him finalize his move and manage his affairs since he was in the middle of settling into his new apartment. Meanwhile, our mom has been by his side, witnessing his resilience despite setbacks like needing dialysis and now mechanical ventilation due to lung damage.

Steven is currently at Tampa General Hospital, where every day is a battle. The doctors are hopeful but say his recovery could take anywhere from six months to a year. The person that caused the accident was arrested today April 26, he was driving with a suspended license, and also had insurance that lapse.

We're asking for your help to ease the financial burden of Steven's medical and living expenses during his recovery. Any donation, big or small, is deeply appreciated. If you're unable to donate, please keep Steven in your thoughts or prayers, and consider sharing this page. Thank you for taking the time to support Steven's fight to walk again. He is recovering well, but its going to be a long journey and we are grateful for your support.

How Funds Will Be Used:
  • Living Expenses: Covering bills and essential expenses while Steven is unable to work.
  • Medical Costs: Paying for medical bills and prescriptions not covered by insurance.
  • Accessible Housing: Securing a handicap-accessible first-floor apartment to support his recovery
