Support Steven's Recovery

We are reaching out to share our journey and seek your support for our son, Steven Jr., who was born on January 19, 2025, via emergency C-section at 33 weeks. From the moment we welcomed him into the world, our lives changed in ways we could never have anticipated due to unexpected complications.
Steven was diagnosed with severe hydrocephalus, a condition characterized by an accumulation of cerebrospinal fluid in the brain. This diagnosis was accompanied by a congenital anomaly of the nervous system, which may have impacted his physical development from the second trimester without warning.
Additionally, he faces significant challenges with atresia and stenosis that affect his esophagus, resulting in a congenital tracheoesophageal fistula coupled with a vascular ring anomaly that constricts his esophagus.
Despite the trials he faces, our little warrior has shown incredible strength. He has bravely undergone surgeries to treat his hydrocephalus and repair his esophageal fistula. It was a moment of pure joy for us when we finally heard his voice after these procedures, a sound we had longed for during those quiet, anxious days.
He is expected to have little to no cognitive challenges as he grows up, and his heartfelt behavior continues to display the same want and need to be with his mama and papa like every newborn baby does. However, he still faces more hurdles ahead, including necessary heart surgery scheduled for when he turns six months old, due to congenital heart disease.
As we navigate this difficult path, the medical expenses continue to mount, placing an immense burden on our family, as we have been away from work during these difficult periods in the NICU. We are humbly asking for your support for Steven. May he receive the care he needs to thrive. Your generosity will make a profound difference in our lives and help us provide our son with the best possible chance at a healthy future.
We appreciate the time you took to read our story and for considering supporting our baby boy.
