Help Steven Recover After Decades of Pain and Recent Surgery
Hello, my name is Steven Walmsley. In 1983, I was hit by a car and suffered severe injuries that changed my life forever. Over the past 42 years, I’ve endured multiple surgeries to try and keep going — including a fused ankle, two hip replacements, a knee replacement, and most recently, a three-hour surgery to revise my left ankle, which had become severely swollen and painful due to arthritis.
Living with chronic pain has been a daily battle, but I’ve always pushed through and worked to support myself. I live alone with my dog, who’s been a great source of comfort through all of this. Unfortunately, recovery from this latest surgery has made it nearly impossible to get by physically and financially right now.
I’m not the type of person who’s ever been comfortable asking for help, but I’m in dire straits and I’m reaching out with hope and humility. Any amount of support — no matter how small — would be a true blessing and would help me cover my basic monthly bills as I heal and work toward getting back on my feet.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story, and for any kindness you can offer during this tough time.
With gratitude,
Steven
