Support Steven's Moab240 Ultra-Marathon Dream
0% complete
$710 raised of
10 donations
Years ago, son Steven and his family camped near what was the race route for the Moab 240, a five-day 240 mile ultra-marathon. Curious about the race, he followed the runners progress online for a few years. Last year, he volunteered to help along the race route. He loves that area of Utah and, at the encouragement of his wife, decided to run, despite no experience in ultra-marathons. He calls it 'a cheap mid-life crisis.' He says finishing the race would be a 'life accomplishment.'
As a 911 dispatcher for Montezuma County, married to an RN at the local hospital, and with two growing children, the cost of race and support equipment strains the family budget.
All funds donated will go toward the cost of the race and the equipment and supplies needed. Lodging and family support are excluded and all funds unused will be donated to the Moab 240 Stephen Jones Scholarship fund to provide meaningful internship opportunities to future recreation managers of public lands.
