Hello we are Daneen and Robert we are the parents of Steven Lopez, Steven is our 10 year old and just the sweetest guy. He loves his VR and swimming, so independent and beautiful. He was shot by a stray bullet while watching TV on the couch father's day morning. He was fighting for his life on life support at Sanford Children's Hospital in Sioux Falls for a month. since then he has been sent to life scape children's hospital for intense inpatient rehabilitation. he has began to speak and moves his legs.and can move one arm. he had to get botox injections in one arm to help loosen the musle.he still has the feeding tube in his stomach. the surgeon replaced the missing skull sooner then they had planned. he is trying mouth feedings during therapy. and stands and sits with support. we are so proud of all his progress. We have a two bedroom apartment but Steven will be coming home in October so we need to find a three bedroom because he will need his own space for his medical equipment and hospital bed.
