Dear Family, Friends and community members,
I am reaching out to you to support 19-year-old Steven Hunter and his family. Steven had a horrific unknown accident while fishing with friends at Pine Creek Canyon in Alturas, California. The morning of 6/22/24 Steven had to be rescued by Cal-Fire and basketed 180ft out of the canyon by helicopter and was flown to Mercy Medical Center in Redding. Steven is in critical condition on life-support with a diagnosis of a severe skull injury with major brain trauma
As close-knit group of friends and family, we are devastated by this shocking event and are doing everything we can to support his family.
Steven is a caring, sweet young man with his entire life ahead of him. He loves spending time with his friends and cousins. He has a heart full of dreams and aspirations of joing the Army, and it breaks our hearts to see him fighting for his life. We are doing everything in our power to ensure he receives the medical treatment he needs.
We have set up this GoFundMe campaign to support the family members so they are able to be by his side. Unfortunately, due to Covid the hospital no longer offer a place for families to stay To be by their loved one side. Steven's family home is 2 1/2 hours away from the hospital and it is very important for his family to be by his side to help him fight for his life as it's going to be a very long and costly journey.
Even the smallest contribution can make a big difference in Steven's healing journey and family members' lives. We kindly request your support, whether it's a financial contribution or simply sharing this campaign with others. Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated and will be instrumental in positively impacting Steven's recovery.
Sincerely,
Holly Cox
