Many of you might know that my dear brother, Steven Espinosa (longtime yoga instructor, former professional dancer, writer, and overall incredible human) has been recovering from hip surgery. What you probably don’t know is … on June 26, 2024 what was supposed to be routine hip surgery revealed a tumor at the top of Steven’s femur. Unfortunately — based on where the tumor sits — doctors say it’s impossible to remove. Steven is awaiting further tests to show if he needs chemo, radiation, and/or treatments to prevent spreading. 

Recovery from hip surgery will take six to eight weeks at minimum — which means Steven is unable to work. And so, we’re raising funds to help him pay for everyday living expenses. He is currently in physical therapy and managing pain. And he’s hoping to get back to doing what he loves: teaching yoga and spreading joy. 

For more than 25 years, Steven has given so much to the yoga community — any amount you can offer is greatly appreciated, and will go directly to helping Steven as he navigates the next few to several months.
