Steve Arena is a 1977 graduate of North Syracuse High School and a proud Military Veteran. I've had the privilege of calling him my friend since sixth grade, and over the years, I've seen firsthand how giving and caring he is. Steve has always stepped up when someone needed help—whether it was a former classmate, a fellow veteran, a neighbor, co-worker, or even a stranger. Now, Steve is facing a challenge that he can't overcome alone.
Recently, Steve was diagnosed with a brain tumor. He is also suffering multiple seizures on a daily basis, which may be from the tumor or could be the result of a previous stroke (testing continues). The tumor and seizures have led to the loss of his job and, in turn, the loss of his medical insurance. He has requested benefits he is entitled to, including filing a VA claim, and they are being evaluated. However, Steve hasn't received a paycheck since November, and his financial resources are running out. He is struggling to cover daily living expenses, medical costs, and even the gas and parking fees for his numerous medical appointments.
Steve's loving wife, Marie, is working a part-time job to try to make ends meet. She's also his full-time caregiver, handling everything from daily meals to transporting him to appointments. The emotional and financial strain on the family is immense. That's why I'm reaching out to you—our friends, family, and community. Steve has always been there for others, and now he needs our help. Please consider donating and sharing this fundraiser with your networks. Any amount you can give will make a difference for Steve and Marie during this difficult time.
