A Message from the Linders Family
You never expect the tragedies you hear about on the news to happen to you—or to someone you love. We entered 2025 with hope in our hearts, believing this year would bring only good news. But last night, our family was struck by another heartbreaking event—one we are praying will turn into a story of strength, recovery, and miracles.
On the evening of May 3rd, around 6:00 PM, Steve and Nikki Linders were enjoying one of their favorite things: a peaceful ride together on their moped. In a split second, their joy was shattered when a driver suddenly pulled out in front of them. There was no time to stop.
Steve is now in the ICU at HCMC with a long and uncertain road ahead. He is currently on a ventilator, suffering from brain swelling, bleeding, and a skull fracture in his occipital bone. He also sustained a broken hip that will require surgery and replacement. At this time, the neurological team is closely monitoring his brain function and swelling. Answers are few, but our prayers are many—we are holding on to hope for a full recovery and full healing of his brain.
Nikki, thankfully, is physically okay—sore, but stable after a thorough check. She is standing strong by Steve’s side, as she always has, being his rock through this storm.
Steve and Nikki are my husband’s parents, and our children’s beloved grandparents. Our three little ones are Steve’s pride and joy, and it’s heartbreaking to see him in this condition. Steve is not just a devoted husband and father—he’s a hardworking businessman, a dreamer, and a provider who loves his family more than anything.
We’ve created this GoFundMe to help Nikki with household expenses and the unknown medical costs that will follow in the weeks and months ahead. Nikki is the kind of woman who shows up for everyone—an incredible wife, mother, and the world’s most devoted grandma. We want to show up for her now, in her time of need.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your prayers, your kindness, and any support you can give. Our family has already endured so much in the last four and a half months, and your generosity means more than words can express.
With love,
Jordan, Erin, Hayden, Olivia, James, and all the family members of Steve Linders
