Support Steve in his Motorcycle Accident Recovery

Hi, my name is Erik and I’m fundraising for my dad, Steve.

My dad has been riding motorcycles for more than 50 years. Last Saturday, August 26th, he had plans to take a ride with a friend and then stop to get a burger.

Steve and his friend met up at our house before taking off. They were just beyond where my dad would normally ride when he lost control of his motorcycle. (Story continues below the photo.)

He was flown to the hospital, where he was considered to be their top priority patient. His injuries include internal bleeding in his brain and chest, collapsed lungs, and broken bones in his face, spine, ribs, shoulder, and hip. We’ve been told that he will be in critical care for weeks to come before being sent to a long-term rehab facility, which could last for months.

Unfortunately, our family’s livelihood depends on my dad’s physical fitness and mental health. He is the owner of our family-owned-and-operated carpet cleaning business, S&J Carpet Care, which is our primary source of income.

My mom and I will continue to run the business, but she will be taking a step back from her other job to help me, and we’re afraid we won’t make enough to support ourselves while taking care of my dad and paying for the medical expenses.
