If you know Steve Hayward, you know he shows up when someone needs help. He is everyone’s friend, a beloved baseball coach and mentor to so many, and a man whose strong faith in God has guided the way he lives - treats others with generosity, humility, and heart.
Steve has been courageously battling multiple myeloma cancer, facing every challenge with strength and unwavering faith. Then on Thursday, tragedy struck again when the Oak Park home he grew up in- filled with a lifetime of memories- burned down. He lost nearly everything, including his clothes and countless irreplaceable belongings.
For decades, Steve has poured into his community through baseball, coaching, and encouraging so many young people. To many, he’s been more than a coach- he’s been family. He has spent his life lifting others up, and now we want to lift him up.
As Steve works to recover from this devastating loss while continuing his fight against cancer, we’re asking the Oak Park and baseball communities - and all who know and love Steve- to come together in support. Any donation, no matter the size, will help him rebuild and replace essentials. If you’re unable to give, your prayers and sharing this page mean just as much.
Let’s surround Steve with faith, love, and hope, and remind him he does not walk this road alone.
