They say a village is needed in hard times, and I've always felt a strong sense of village from all of you amazing folks around me, so it's time that I put this out there.
On Christmas Eve of 2024, my dad, Steve Hallmark, was diagnosed with Stage IV Small Cell Carcinoma Lung Cancer. He spent some time at UT Southwestern Medical Center and is now home, receiving chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatments every 21 days.
Due to his condition, he is unable to work, and although he has applied for social security and disability benefits, these programs could take a significant amount of time before they distribute any payments. With the lack of income, basic living expenses have been hard to take care of, not to mention the medical bills and premiums. Steve is in need of this amazing village and community we have to help him cover these costs until his benefits kick in.
This diagnosis has been extremely difficult to come to terms with, but we are going to do everything in our power to fight the good fight. If you feel led to do so, please donate to help cover some of his costs so he can stay focused on his fight!
