Support Steve Gibbs' Road to Recovery

On the afternoon of June 1st, Steve Gibbs got onto Westside Parkway from Truxtun and his jeep flipped. He was hanging upside down when a good samaritan found him. The seatbelt was cutting off his airways so the stranger took his pocket knife and cut him down. Thankfully the paramedics weren’t far and he was quickly taken to Kern Medical Center.
His wife was notified by the app Life360 that Steve was in a crash, but it wasn’t until his daughter drove to the crash site and showed the officers on the scene Steve’s phone location that the family was given the information of where he was taken. This was approximately an hour of the family trying to locate their missing husband and father. At the trauma department they found Steve unconscious, sedated, and intubated. The doctors told his family that his injuries are more than the hospital’s ability to care for. This was clear to the family as not even the overhead lights were working for the surgeons and the whole trauma department was backed up with hurt people lining the halls. KMC reached out to Loma Linda University Medical Center and Steve was transported early June second. This is where he has been since with a tbi (traumatic brain injury) and although he is off sedation, he is still unconscious.
Please help him on his long road to recovery and keep his family close by as they hold their breath waiting for good news.
