I started this GoFundMe to support my cousin, Steve Carroll and his family after Steve was recently diagnosed with an aggressive form of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) on November 21st. The diagnosis came as a shock to all of us, and especially to Steve and his wife, Allie. Steve is a devoted husband and the proud father of 7-year-old Savannah and 5-year-old Dylan.

Steve has spent the past three weeks in the hospital receiving intensive chemotherapy. He is home now with his family for Christmas, but his journey is just beginning. Over the next two years, Steve will need to return to the hospital every month for four days of chemotherapy, along with frequent bone marrow biopsies, spinal chemo infusions, imaging, and extensive blood testing. The physical, emotional, and mental toll of this treatment is overwhelming.

Although Steve remains determined and does everything he can to stay engaged with work and family life, leukemia treatment is unpredictable. Long hospital stays, ongoing outpatient care, recovery time, and a weakened immune system make normal routines difficult and places a heavy strain on daily life. Medical expenses, time away from work, prescriptions, and the many unseen costs of treatment add up quickly.

The road ahead will be long and challenging — physically, emotionally, and financially. This fund exists to help ease that burden so Steve can focus on healing and being present for his family, without the constant stress of financial pressure.
