Update 8/15/2025 from Jen (Daughter)
Update on dad:
When I talked to him this morning he was mostly happy to have been able to shower and eat better tasting food the last few days, so morale is up! He’s doing three 1 hour sessions a day consisting of PT, OT and Cognitive Therapy, so he’s pretty wiped out at the end of the day. He was able to dress himself (wrestle might be more accurate with the collar being his nemesis) in his Giants tshirt today, which the doctor said was good practice. The nurse told my mom he can cruise the hall in his wheelchair by himself pretty well, and he took about 50 steps with a cane today, so even though he still has a ways to go, overall he’s making progress!
Prayer requests:
- for an appointment with his NP to come available within 2 weeks so he can continue his out patient therapies here without too much interruption
-insurance approval for home needs, specifically a hospital bed for when he comes home
Update from Daughter 8/7/2025- With assistance he was able to sit for a short period of time (he only lasted about 20 minutes after this photo before he was in pain and needed a nap), and even took a few steps with a walker and nurses to supprt him. We were all very excited that he was able to leave the ICU and settle in to a regular room so he can hopefully get a little more rest while he begins his slow recovery. We were warned that after so much activity today, tomorrow might be rough as his body is obviously still recovering and healing, but we are happy with the progress he’s made so far. In very exciting news, Kaylie was finally able to come visit dad today and they were both very happy to be reunited! Thank you for your ongoing support and prayers ❤️
Original Post- Our dear friends, Steve and Emilie Bellah, was recently involved in a serious accident on the way to church on the morning of August 3rd. While Emilie is thankfully doing okay, she is now by her dad’s side every step of the way as he recovers in the Intensive Care Unit.
Steve was Medi flighted from the scene and has already undergone one surgery.
He faces a long road ahead with significant medical expenses, ongoing treatments, and time in the hospital. His family is also incurring travel, food, and lodging costs to remain close to him during this difficult time.
We’re asking for your help — whether through a donation, a share, or a message of encouragement — to ease the financial burden so Steve and his loved ones can focus entirely on his healing. Every contribution, no matter the size, will go directly toward:
➡️Medical expenses not fully covered by insurance
➡️Travel and lodging for his family to stay nearby
➡️Food and daily necessities while they remain at the hospital
If you prefer to give directly, donations can also be sent via Venmo: @camie-bellah — Venmo funds are available immediately, allowing the family to cover urgent needs right away.
When Steve comes home, we will also be organizing a meal train to help support his recovery and give his family one less thing to worry about. If you’d like to help with that, please reach out to Nicole Vondrak or Aimee Kirk for more information.
Steve is a kind, loyal, and generous soul who has touched the lives of so many. Now, he needs our community’s love and support more than ever.
Thank you for keeping Steve, Emilie and the entire Bellah Family in your thoughts and prayers. Let’s rally together to help Steve heal and come home.
Please donate here or via Venmo, and share this page to spread the word.
