Support Steve and Lily After Eaton Fires

In the wake of the devastating Eaton Fires, our neighbors Steve and Lily have lost their beautiful Altadena home, their belongings, and a beautiful orchard of over 150 unique fruit trees. They have been planting these rare trees since 1999, inspired by a huge white sapote tree already there that was planted by some early Altadena fruit lover in the early 20th century.

Mike and I have collaborated with Steve and Lily over the years through their orchards in Altadena. We have seen how much they have shared and given back to their community. They shared their fruits from the orchard with hundreds of people at farmers markets, local shops, and restaurants. Steve has also been a longtime collaborator with TreePeople, teaching fruit tree planting and pruning techniques, and helping establish public orchards in underserved Angelino Communities. During the COVID-19 pandemic, they also offered their bounty of fruit to those in need in the LA area.

We are hoping that we can help them now as they face the daunting task of starting over from scratch. Any contribution, no matter how small is appreciated. The funds will be used to help them get back on their feet and pay for daily living expenses during this time. We are deeply grateful for your generosity and kindness.
