I'm raising funds for my friends Steve and Betty Clayton. He is 63 and she is 74. I conducted a GoFundMe for them last year to help them stay in their house and keep their utilities on until Steve could start receiving Social Security. He had to quit work due to an injury. A huge THANK YOU to all who helped them through that.

They used to live in a motel. Steve could only find temp jobs. Betty was on Social Security. I was able to help them get a van, which helped Steve finally find full-time work. Six years ago they were able to buy a modest home through some special state programs.

Since last year, Steve was diagnosed with lymphoma and had to begin treatments. It has become extremely difficult for them to get him to appointments and care for him during treatments, so they decided to move West Virginia to Colorado to be closer to Betty's son.

They sold their house for just enough to pay off their mortgage and buy an older model motorhome. They have also raised enough for gas, but not enough for their other travel expenses or to afford a short term place to park their RV until they find something more permanent.

As of this writing, Steve is almost a month overdue starting his next round of chemo. Steve's and Betty's health are too poor for them to make the drive alone, so they need enough for airfare to fly their son and his friend from Colorado. They are in tight financial situations as well and can't afford the fare.

The purpose of this fundraiser is to help them get enough funding to bring their son and a friend from Colorado, make the trip, and provide a short term place to park their RV for a few weeks.

They have spent all of their Social Security for this month on getting moved out, and won't get more income until early September.

Their most urgent need is to get to Colorado as soon as possible so Steve can get his next round of treatments.
