Support Steph's Gift of Life to Her Brother

There is no bond stronger than that between a brother and a sister! Steph and Jason are nothing short of a true testament to this statement!

Hello. My name is Samantha Miller and I am raising funds for my friends Jason Hoffner and Steph Porrini. Jason and Steph both have amazing hearts and would do anything in their power to help those they are close to! In 2000, Jason was diagnosed with Glomerulonephritis, which is a kidney disease that occurs when the glomeruli, the tiny filters in the kidneys, become inflamed and impair the kidney's ability to filter waste products from the blood. In 2021, Jason had Covid, and that pushed his kidneys over the edge to stage 4 kidney failure. He started dialysis in March of 2024. He does dialysis 5 days a week for 4 hours a day and found out he would need a kidney transplant to survive and have a better quality of life! Steph has selflessly decided that she wants to give her brother the gift of her kidney! She has been going through testing since August of 2024 and has been deemed a good match. This is FABULOUS news! They have been given the go-ahead for surgery on March 4th, 2025!!

I am trying to help relieve the financial burden of their travel costs to Ohio State University’s Wexner Medical Center, where the surgery will be performed, as well as their lost wages, and Airbnb costs. Jason has missed a significant amount of work over the last several years due to his illness. Both of them will be missing several weeks of work during recovery, and because of the nature of Steph’s career, she does not have vacation time or sick days she can use.
