Hello, my name is Cathy and I’m raising funds for Stephen Otis.

There are people who build their lives with their hands — who show up every day, work hard, and take pride in earning an honest living. That is exactly who Stephen is.

For years, Stephen has been self-employed in commercial and residential premium floor and upholstery cleaning. His work is not easy — it requires strength, stamina, long hours on his feet, lifting heavy equipment, constant bending, kneeling, and repetitive motion. It’s physically demanding in every way. Yet he has always shown up with professionalism, integrity, and pride in delivering excellent service to every client.

But over time, that physical toll caught up with him.

Within just a matter of weeks, Stephen has had to undergo three major surgical procedures. These surgeries were necessary and unavoidable. Now the focus is clear: healing, rehabilitation, and allowing his body the full six months it needs to properly recover.

While stepping away from work is the logical and medically necessary decision, it comes with a heavy burden. As a self-employed business owner, when Stephen cannot work, there is no income. The financial obligations — mortgage/rent, utilities, insurance, medical expenses, business overhead, and everyday living costs — do not pause during recovery.

The stress of mounting bills is real. And that stress can directly impact healing.

Our goal is to relieve that financial pressure so Stephen can focus fully on recovery — without the overwhelming fear of falling behind. He has always been the one who shows up for others — for his clients, for his community, and for those he cares about. Now it’s our turn to show up for him.
