Support Stephen's Journey to Recovery

I've been suffering from acid reflux and GERD for nearly 20 years now. There are some nights when I can't get more than six consecutive minutes of sleep. After years of drinking Pepto like it was Pepsi, and eating Tums like they were candy, I'm finally getting this fixed once and for all.

After an MRI, endoscopy, barium swallow test, x-rays, and a terribly unpleasant high resolution esophageal manometry test, I've learned that I have both Barrett's Esophagus and a hiatal hernia - part of my stomach is up above my diaphragm - not where it's supposed to be - and something that no medication can fix. After various consultations, I've decided that surgery is the only way to properly and permanently fix this issue, which is affecting my quality of life. This is my very first surgery.

Yes, I have health insurance - but what I DON'T have is any sort of paid sick leave or paid time off from work. I love owning my own business, but one of the biggest disadvantages is if I'm not working, I'm not making money. After my surgery, the recovery time and lifting restrictions will prevent me from working at 100% capacity for several weeks.

I'm humbly asking for your support, to help cover the co-pay of the surgery, and to help cover my bills, insurance, expenses, equipment (walker, cane, shower seat, etc.), food, etc. while I'm recovering. Even $10 or $20 will help, so please don't feel the need to go crazy.
