Support Stephen's Battle Against Leukemia
Donation protected
From Bryce and Stephanie:
“To all our friends and family,
Over the past month, Stephen has been struggling with illness, including fevers and bone pain. On August 31, he collapsed at home and was unable to bear weight on his leg. We had been concerned about a possible cancer diagnosis, and it has now been confirmed that Stephen has acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL).
This has been an emotional roller coaster, but we feel God’s presence and eyes on us. Lots of tears, but underlying hope. We are thankful in all seasons, even in this challenging one. We are praying for Stephen's healing, but leaning on the Lord.
ALL has a high survival rate in children, and we are thankful that Stephen is facing this type of leukemia rather than a more aggressive form. Our hope remains firmly in the Lord..
We are still processing what this means for our family and Stephen’s future. Bryce will need to reduce or at times pause his work commitments. We are currently unsure about long-term insurance coverage for treatment, but for now, we believe we are covered.
Stephen is scheduled to start chemotherapy on September 3. He will have some initial milestones to reach, and after that, we will manage most of the 2.5-year treatment plan through clinics and occasional hospital stays.
We deeply appreciate the support from our church community and our beloved Oma and Gucka. Your prayers are invaluable to us as we ask for healing, wisdom, peace, and for God to be glorified through this journey.
We will update this page regularly with news and prayer requests as we navigate this long road ahead.
Thank you all for your love and support. ♥️”
From Audra:
Let’s come along side the Leggett family during this time and support them in whatever ways they may need. Treatments and the journey to healing for Stephen will be ongoing over the next 2 & 1/2 years or so. Apart from treatment/medical expenses there will undoubtedly be added financial needs due to time taken off work, extended hospital stays, meals or possible travel expenses. Please consider helping the Leggett’s financially if you are able. As well, We will likely get a meal train up and running sometime soon, but for the time being, until Stephen is home/out of the hospital it is not yet needed since the family is mostly at the hospital when they can be.
Above all, please keep them in your continued prayers.
“What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?…Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.”
