Support Stephen Smith's ( Pop) Final Journey

Hi, my name is Naomi and I am the daughter of Stephen Smith on March 4 we got a call from my dad that he needed to go to the hospital because something was wrong with his hip and needed an x-ray from previous falls that began 2 months ago. Come to find out my father has been diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia of the blood. So right away doctors began to give him emergency chemo to keep him alive because his body was bleeding internally from a G.I. bleed because unfortunately that leukemia attacks his white blood cells. And destroys his platelets, leaving his body vulnerable to bleeding out after numerous of blood transfusions, platelet transfusions, countless numbers of needles , IV’s , pick line and 2 strokes . My father began to fight for his life being the only parent of his 2 daughters and son. my father fought and fought to make it back home to his family after an entire month in the hospital, they found a chemo pill that worked to give him at least a year to live and they released him to a rehab center. Which from there I began to fight beg and cry to have him transferred because of the improper care he was receiving at the rehab … after five days of being in that rehab. We were right back in the hospital fighting for our life again and this time worse needing not one not two but four blood transfusions at one time and two bags of platelets and the chemo pills were no longer working the doctors asked my dad to give them three more weeks to “try”to manage to keep him alive for at least another six months to a year which wasn’t promised . At this point, my father was defeated waved his flag. And surrendered the fight to come home on hospice and put the rest in gods hands . As he is currently fighting for his life, which is sadly coming to an end me and my entire family are left with the financial burdens of completely stopping work, Pausing our lives And spending every single day by his side day and night, so I am asking my village and other people out there in the world that anything even a small donation will help towards the funeral cost, and other expenses of our daily lives that were impacted by this devastating life-changing cancer . Our father is our only parent left. He is our entire world. Anyone that got to know my father love my father. Laugh with my father and cry with my father knows that he would’ve given the shirt off his back to a stranger in need my father has a heart of gold he was the neighborhood Handy Man. Everyone in the neighborhood knew that if anybody had something they needed for their every day lives and necessities they knew Pop had it. He accepted everyone he loved everyone !!!! And one thing he is really good at is being a smart ass, always had some type of joke to crack or goofy dance to pull off !!! he’s definitely one of a kind.and he’s definitely one stand up guy !!!
