Support Stephen McDonald's Heart Surgery Recovery

Hi there,

This is Jenna Murray, the wife of Stephen McDonald. We have been together 9 years and have 2 beautiful babies. Kai and Kali McDonald. I currently work at Wesbanco and Stephen was taking classes at Jennmar hoping to get hired in with the mine. On August 25th he had a massive heart attack on his way to Waynesburg PA where he drove himself all the way back to Moundsville. After finding out he had a heart attack they took us straight from Reynolds Memorial Hospital to Wheeling Medical Park. Where they did a Heart Cath, and in return made us aware that he needed open heart surgery immediately. That was scheduled for August 30th. They did a bypass, where they took veins from his leg and replaced the ones in his heart. During this time I had to find someone to keep our babies so I could be at the hospital with him, and I also had to take FMLA leave from work. I unfortunately did not have the PTO time to get paid while being off to take care of my family. I am going to back to work very soon, but we will still be a going over an entire month with no income due to me getting paid bi-weekly. Plus we will be living off of just my income for at least another 4-5 months until Stephen is fully healed and recovered from his surgery. I thank god everyday I still I have my husband and my kids still have their daddy. And I am grateful that I was able to take time off of work to take care of him in his time of need. Now though, we are unsure of how we are going to survive these next few months. I know there are some very wonderful people out there who may be willing to donate to get us through this difficult time. Even the smallest bit helps. Thank you ❤️.
