Support Stephen Light to Rebuild after Ian
Donation protected
Hello friends and family, it is with a heavy heart that I am reaching out to you on behalf of my brother, Steve Light. As you know, Hurricane Ian decimated Ft Myers Beach, Florida and the surrounding area. Steve and the Cigar Hut has been a staple of Times Square for over 22 years, just recently making his move down the street to the new location on Old San Carlos Blvd. It has been more than just a store that sells cigars, it’s a gathering spot where anyone can make new friends or be reunited with old, for celebrating, sharing stories, connecting with others from different cultures and backgrounds. Steve has been instrumental in donating to making Ft Myers Beach a welcome respite to all: supporting the funding for 4th of July and NYE fireworks, participating in the Christmas boat parade, involved in city council to maintain the small town, local feel that is Ft Myers Beach. Steve has lived his entire adult life on the beach, welcoming all to his shop, from Germany, Ft Wayne, Toronto, to St Louis and many more. Many tourists return to Ft Myers Beach just to visit Steve on his porch.
Like countless other business owners and locals, Steve’s Cigar Hut has been decimated by Hurricane Ian. Lives have been lost, and the island as we know it is no longer. Steve will be starting from scratch to rebuild this beloved gathering spot for so many locals and tourists. Ian has ravaged this small town; let’s not allow Ian to destroy all future memories along with it. Together we can help Steve bring back the Cigar Hut to Ft Myers Beach.
Please consider donating; no amount is too small. Your generosity and reposting are greatly appreciated.
