Help us support Stephen, a husband, father, stepfather, brother, and friend who chose to "guide the youth of New Mexico toward a better future for themselves," affirms his son. Stephen spent many years in service to others.

From Stephen: Who cares for the child who's at risk when it's crunch time? Well, I have. I've looked into the eyes of a 17 year-old who is not on track to graduate. My heart broke when his counselor, my colleague, unfortunately decided to give up and focus on other students in her caseload. Giving up wasn't an option for me especially when he was so close. Although I was assigned to sophomores, I couldn't allow the next few months of this young man's life to float by without him walking across the stage with his classmates. So, what happened next? I devised a plan, alongside his teachers, to make sure he caught up, turned in missing assignments, and supported him in completing a few projects to make sure he graduated.

Stephen has been a brother to me for more than 50 years. He spent his career working as a Guidance Counselor and later an Educational Consultant. But for the last few years, Stephen's full-time job has been going to treatment with the support of his family. Stephen was diagnosed with Squamous Cell Carcinoma and continues to live each day loving his family and managing his cancer. Since he has been unable to work due to his treatments, his medical bills have been piling up quickly.

Each moment of each day is precious and we are so very grateful for the number of people who have contributed to help us support Stephen. Join us in supporting the man who has given so much. Looking Forward!
