Tragedy Strikes Family Twice

Donation protected
UPDATE ON JULY 22, 2025:
As we are more than halfway toward meeting our goal, we first would like to say that we truly appreciate all donations provided to date. Memorial services, utility expenses, and other expenses that are coming in are able to be paid in full or in part with the money that has been provided so far.

We know there are still expenses yet unseen that will need to be paid, and we continue to appreciate any and all donations that is provided.

UPDATE ON JULY 12, 2025:
We weren't expecting this news so soon, but the hospital called at 2:33am today, 7/12/25, to tell us that Stephanie passed away.  She was supposed to have been transferred to the Hospice house this morning, but the nurse said she went peacefully with several of the nurses around her. Stephanie is now with the Lord at peace forevermore. — "We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord." - 2 Corinthians 5:8

UPDATE ON JULY 11, 2025:
Tragedy strikes again for this family!!! Yesterday morning, Jeremy was found dead in the same trailer due to a fire. His mom had a test yesterday that would determine whether there’s any hope of her being able to have a life aside from nursing care, and the results concluded she will not recover and has been placed into hospice care. It will be a matter of when she passes, as she’s just being made comfortable. For this reason, we are changing the REASON for asking for donations for this family.

Instead, and moving forward, we continue to ask for donations so that medical expenses for mom can be covered, as well as any other outstanding expenses or other expenses incurred in the future (such as funeral expenses and outstanding utilities).

We truly appreciate donations already received. All previous donors have been contacted and made aware of the current situation, and have let us know their donations can be kept and used for these new expenses.

ORIGINAL POST:
DAUGHTER AND GRANDSON SUFFER TRAGIC LIFE-THREATENING EVENT. PLEASE HELP MEET A MUCH-NEEDED FINANCIAL BURDEN.

My name is John Whittington and I am submitting this need for my daughter, Stephanie and grandson, Jeremy. Stephanie and Jeremy live in a rental trailer park that is not well maintained. Their air conditioner was not working properly and when Jeremy came home from work on Tuesday, June 24, he found his mother passed out.

She was in a coma and her temperature was 107° upon arrival at the hospital. She was admitted to the hospital as suffering from a heat stroke. Stephanie was placed on a ventilator and is in serious condition, with the possibility of having some form of brain damage. They were able to finally take her off the ventilator early this morning around 10am EST and, at the time this was published, she is still holding her own as far as remaining off the ventilator. She still has a long way to go, though.

Stephanie has always done everything for her son Jeremy…even as an adult, for various reasons, and now she is not able. Jeremy works a full-time job, but they have struggled to make ends meet even with two sources of income. Unfortunately, Stephanie did not make the essential arrangements in case something was to happen to her.

Now Jeremy only has his own income and needs to move to a better environment that is closer to his work, as he does not drive. Stephanie will move in with him if she recovers and is able to care for herself at home.

Jeremy will need help with getting money for (amounts listed are expected and not exact):
  • The first month's rent and the security deposit, $1,500.00
  • Deposits for utilities, $200.00
  • A new bed and some furniture/household items, $1,500.00
  • An electric scooter for him to get to work, $200.00
  • Final rent payment for previous rental, $600.00
  • Moving/unforeseen expenses that typically arise, S500.00

PROJECTED GOAL TOTAL -> $4,500.00

ANY CONTRIBUTIONS ARE APPRECIATED GREATLY., WHETHER ITS $1, $5, $10, $20 OR MORE. PLEASE SHARE THIS NEED WITH YOUR FRIENDS, FAMILY AND CO-WORKERS TO HELP US MEET OUR GOAL. THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS YOU FOR HELPING.
