My Name is Terri,
My Daughter Stephanie was in a car accident when she was on her way home from School on June 3, 22025. It was raining, and as far as we and the officers figure, when she turned onto the road toward home, she must have hit a puddle and hydroplaned. The officers believe the truck rolled at least four or five times, and Stephanie got thrown from the truck. After the crash, a couple found her trying to crawl out from under the truck. The couple called 911. By the time rescuers arrived on the scene, she was lying in the ditch on her back. Thankfully, she was still alive. She was rushed to the Park Falls hospital. They said she had a broken bone in her neck, lacerated liver, and bruised lungs. She also had a gash above her eye, along with other scrapes and bruises. Stepanie was sent to St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield to be seen by a trauma team that could care for her better. Doctors there found many injuries, including a skull fracture, a fracture in the neck, and a fracture in the lower spine. Possible bleeding of the top and lower spleen and multiple fractures in her pelvic area.
On June 4th, it was determined she would need surgery to repair her pelvis. During surgery a screw/pin was placed to hold everything in place and to help her heal better.
June 5th, Stephanie was able to sit on the side of her bed and was able to stand with assistance for a few seconds. During this, she was in excruciating pain. She needed to learn how to stand and walk with little to no pressure on her right leg until her pelvis fractures heal.
Later that evening, the doctor cleared her neck and was able to remove the neck brace.
By June 6th, Stephanie was able to leave the ICU and was moved to the pediatric wing.
Stephanie worked hard in just a few days and was able to leave the hospital. For her to come home, she needed a ramp so she would be able to enter and leave the house as needed.
We were able to get a ramp for my daughter thanks to Smart Construction and possible others that I do not know who helped yet.
Stephanie will need a vehicle she can easily get in and out of, especially to travel to upcoming doctor appointments, and my Chevy Traverse would be the best option for her. Unfortunately, it needs repairs, including a timing chain, valve cover gaskets, front brakes, front struts, and a front stabilizer bar.
If anyone is willing and able to donate, it would be very much appreciated.
Thank you
