Hello, my name is Stephanie Jones, and I’m a single, one-income mother of two teenage daughters who’s in desperate need of saving my home!

I’ve held my home down for going on two years and fell on hard times when I discovered I was paying a water bill for two units, one not being occupied. My landlord threatened that if the water got cut off, I would be evicted, so I took my rent money to pay the water bill and get it turned back on to avoid eviction! I just recently received a paper bill from the water company ensuring that both units use one water meter!

I also take Lyfts daily to and from work and only receive $284 in stamps to feed me and my two teenage daughters. Plus, I pay for our lights, gas, water, household essentials, and food, of course, along with my children’s school events. I have a 10th grader who attends High School and one getting promoted to high school next year, so this is her 8th-grade year where her 8th-grade graduation dues are $150, plus making sure they have what they need throughout the school year!

I’m not ashamed to ask for help and don’t care who tries to bash me for reaching out to the community for help! I’m currently $3000 behind in rent, being $300 short for October and $750 short for November, and here is a new month, December, and January which hasn’t been paid yet! Yes, all my other bills are good now by the grace of God! I have applied for State Emergency Relief Assistance and other rental payment assistance. I just need to catch up so we can move forward!

Any amount will help. I’m just trying to reach a goal of $4000 to make sure my roof is secure! Please help us! If not me, please have a giving and kind heart for my sweet, innocent daughters! I’m literally begging because I’ve fallen on hard times, but I’m still working hard daily, spending daily as well, taking Lyfts or buying food to fix meals for me and my children’s school events! I’m a chef at the Hilton Garden Inn in Detroit, but I’m not making enough to get this back rent paid! Please help me, village. A share is even a help!
