Our family’s NICU journey
One year ago, I delivered my twins, Leo and Olivia, at just 26 weeks gestation. They were both immediately taken to the NICU for critical care, and our lives changed in an instant. After 159 days in the NICU, Olivia was finally able to come home, and we were so grateful for that milestone. But Leo’s journey has been much longer and more complicated. He is now at 400 days in the hospital, and we are expecting multiple more months in the NICU/PICU. Even when he is able to come home, he will still need significant care, including oxygen support and a feeding tube. Through all of this, Leo has shown us every day what it means to fight with strength and courage.
As we continue walking through this long hospital stay, we are asking for help to ease some of the daily burdens on our family. Funds will help with meals and transportation, and they will also help provide enrichment activities for big sister Adalyn and Olivia while we are staying at the hospital or the Ronald McDonald House. This support will also make transportation easier for James to get to work and travel back and forth to the hospital. Your assistance allows us to continue focusing on Leo’s care while also providing for Adalyn and Olivia. Thank you so much for your generosity. If you are not in a place to donate, we would deeply appreciate your shares and prayers as Leo continues to defy the odds.
