Hello! My name is Stephanie I have been a homeowner for 3 years now and have thoroughly enjoyed making a little Eden for myself through gardening in my back yard. My boyfriend, Michael and I have been working on making a life for our selves and our 3 cats. Unfortunately during a pop up storm on 7/22/2025 our ancient Catalpa tree SPLIT and almost landed on our house. Thankfully another tree stopped it from crashing on to our house. However, because the tree DID NOT land on our house, insurance WILL NOT cover the emergency tree removal. Even though there is imminent danger of it falling on our house and causing significant damage.

The tree trimming is going to cost $6,634.00. That cost isn't even the removal of the whole tree, its just the broken portion. They have to bring in two cranes and remove part of the fence to cut off the tree safely. We will have to get the rest of the tree removed in the spring.

Thankfully we do have a small portion of that in our emergency fund, but it will completely wipe it out. Still that cost would be a slap in the face to anyone. We are hoping to set up this GoFundMe to help offset the costs while still paying other bills and maintaining a household. We understand that times are tough right now for a lot of people and we don't expect anyone to go outside their means. Any amount donated, or posts shared is GREATLY appreciated. UPDATE: The fallen part has been removed and my house is safe! It took a crew of 6 people, 4 1/2 hours, 2 cranes, one to hold the tree in place, one to cut and remove piece by piece. Chainsaws, a woodchipper and I assume to be some sort of grinder for the much larger pieces. I gotta say that Premium Tree Service did an EXCELLENT JOB! They were quick, efficient, and cleaned up everything and I will definitely be using them in the future.
