Hello, friends, family, and kind strangers—my name is Chris Mock, and I'm reaching out on behalf of my dear friends Jake and Stephanie Moore from Susanville, California.

Earlier this year, our world turned upside down when Stephanie was diagnosed with a serious arteriovenous malformation (AVM) in her brain—a rare tangle of blood vessels that requires urgent treatment to prevent complications like bleeding or seizures. As a devoted wife, mom to their amazing kids—a 17-year-old who's navigating high school and a spirited 6-year-old full of energy—and the heart of their tight-knit family, Stephanie's strength has been nothing short of inspiring. But this fight has brought challenges we never saw coming, and we're turning to this community for a lifeline.

Living in rural Susanville means the closest top-tier medical care is hours away at UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento. What started as routine checkups has turned into frequent, exhausting trips—sometimes weekly—for scans, consultations, treatments, and specialist visits. Gas, lodging, meals on the road, and time away from work have piled up fast, not to mention the mounting medical bills that insurance doesn't fully cover. Jake's been juggling it all: driving the family back and forth, keeping the kids' routines steady, while Stephanie focuses on her health. Their little ones are troopers, but seeing Mom in pain and the household stretched thin is heartbreaking.

We're aiming to raise $10,000 to ease this burden:

Travel and lodging: Covering gas, hotels, and meals for those long hauls to UC Davis (estimated $3,000).

Medical expenses: Co-pays, prescriptions, and uncovered treatments ($4,500).

Family support: Groceries, childcare, and bills to keep things stable at home while they heal ($2,000).

A buffer for the unknown: Extra for any surprises in this journey ($500).
