Help Stephanie and Her Family in Their Time of Need
Donation protected
If you live in the Bo Manor area or have children involved in the BMJFL football or cheer programs, you probably know Stephanie Halfen. Stephanie isn’t just a familiar face in our schools as a substitute teacher or the incredible mom of eight amazing children—she’s the heart of our community. She’s always the first to lend a hand, especially if it benefits a child. No matter the situation, Stephanie goes above and beyond to help others, giving her time, energy, and resources selflessly.
Over the past 2 ½ years, Stephanie has become one of my dearest friends. She’s kind, sweet, and fiercely determined—the kind of person who lifts up everyone around her. But now, she’s facing challenges that even her unstoppable spirit can’t tackle alone.
The past few months have been incredibly tough for Stephanie and her family. Here’s what they’ve been dealing with:
• Significant damage to their home caused by leaking pipes.
• Extensive repairs to their vehicle’s brakes, rotors, and calipers.
• A failed starter in her boyfriend Michael’s truck, which needed urgent replacement.
• A leaking hot water heater just before Christmas.
As if that weren’t enough, on January 5th, tragedy struck. Late that night, as the children prepared for their return to school, Michael suddenly collapsed after experiencing symptoms of a heart attack. A neighbor performed CPR until paramedics arrived, and Michael was airlifted to Shock Trauma in Baltimore. He was diagnosed with carbon monoxide poisoning and spent hours in a decompression chamber to stabilize his condition.
Meanwhile, Stephanie and the children were also taken to Union Hospital in Elkton, where several of them were treated for elevated carbon monoxide levels. The gas company later discovered a severe issue with their home’s heating unit, which had to be locked out by law and now requires replacement.
Stephanie, Michael, and the children are currently relying on space heaters to stay warm, as the mounting costs of these emergencies have left them unable to afford repairs. True to her humble nature, Stephanie hasn’t asked for help—but I know she desperately needs it.
Stephanie has always been there for this community. She’s helped countless children and families without hesitation. Now, it’s our turn to help her.
We are raising funds to:
1. Replace the heating unit and ensure her home is safe and warm.
2. Offset medical and emergency expenses for Michael and the family.
3. Support Stephanie and the children through this challenging time.
Let’s come together as a community to give back to someone who has given us so much. Any contribution, no matter how small, will make a difference. If you can’t donate, please share this campaign to help us spread the word.
Thank you for helping us support Stephanie and her family in their time of need.
