Life can change overnight. My sister, Stephanie, was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer, an aggressive form of breast cancer that has spread to her lymph nodes.

Since her diagnosis, Stephanie has undergone chemotherapy, a double mastectomy, and now faces radiation and a long road of recovery ahead. She is also living with rheumatoid arthritis, making both the physical and emotional toll even more difficult. Because of her treatment schedule and recovery, she has had to stop working.

Anyone who knows Stephanie knows how deeply she cares for people, animals, and the world around her. She has spent her life helping others in any way she can. Stephanie is an avid learner, a special education teacher, a former vet tech, taught English abroad and fostered animals in need. She is thoughtful, selfless, and a person others can count on for kindness and support.

Even during one of the hardest times in her life, Stephanie continues to show up for others with the same strength and compassion she always has.

Asking for help has never come naturally to her. This fundraiser was created by family to help ease some of the burdens she is facing during treatment and recovery.

The physical, emotional and financial burden of cancer treatment in NYC is overwhelming, especially while unable to work.
