Support Stephanie and Michael's Recovery from Disaster in NC

My name is Kelsie Kinsley and I am raising money which will go directly to my best friend Stephanie Schroeder and her husband, Michael.

Stephanie and Michael have survived Hurricane Helene, incredible 100+ mph winds, the deluge of flood waters and mudslides that have devastated Western NC and especially their home in rural Burnsville. They survived but their home has suffered incredible damage and they need our help to get through this immensely challenging time in their lives. The loss that comes from a natural disaster like this is unimaginable- everything from loss of wages from missed work to irreplaceable personal items to rebuilding a home they only just finished renovating 10 days before the storm.

They want to rebuild and have a very long road ahead of them. Please consider donating any amount you can spare and know that you couldn't be helping more wonderful or giving people. Some words from Stephanie about their property loss:

"Our well and septic tank have been swept away. That will be our first priority to repair.

Our home has severe water damage, broken windows and roof leaks. Thick mud covers everything. The foundation is compromised and possibly irreparable.

We invested the last 3 years building our dream together. Michael did 90% of the renovations all by himself. First, he renovated the cabin where we originally lived. Then, only 10 days before the disaster, we finally moved into our main house after fully renovating it. During the storm the cabin was swept away, as was his shop full of tools he used for his personal construction/restoration company. Our vehicles were also destroyed during the storm.

The guest cabin was going to be rented out and provide us residual income to start paying off the loans we acquired to renovate the main house."
