I am Erin Ford...or formerly known as Erin Logan for those who have known us forever. I am also a very dear friend of the Cherry family having known Stephan, Donna, Dave and Dana since Stephan and I were in 7th grade (so about 6 years ;-) ) and having fallen in love with Kim and their boys when they all came along...they are family to me and I want to be able to help them during this trying time. All money will be sent directly to Kim and Stephan.
Those who know Stephan know him to be a vibrant, happy and energetic guy who loves his bicycle. Sadly, last weekend his body betrayed him. He had a very rare kind of stroke very deep in his brain leaving him unable to walk due extreme weakness and numbness on his left side. He is also unable to focus on anything out of his left eye. He was transported to the hospital in Portland by ambulance where he spent time in the ICU. He is currently still in the hospital and hopefully moving to an acute rehab facility as soon as it is safe for him to do so. It is unlikely that he will be able to work for quite some time (if ever) while he undergoes Physical Therapy to regain mobility. This puts a huge strain financially on the family. Stephan still has the blood clot in his neck which they are trying to get to dissolve. This, too, could limit his future activity. Medical bills will start coming in as the care he has needed has been immense. Bottom line is that things are tough for this sweet family and this guy we have all come to know and love with the GIANT personality and huge heart. One thing we all know about Stephan is that he would give the shirt off of his back to help another.
Any help you can provide would be awesome! Again, every penny goes to Kim and Stephan.
